Think New Brunswick ICT Industrial Showcase

This is to up-date you on the Think New Brunswick ICT Industrial Showcase taking place at the Aitken Center Complex, Fredericton, the evening of November 20 and day of November 21, 2007.

Now over 50 exhibitors …several more coming!

We now have fifty (50) ICT exhibitors accounting for 85% of available booth space and our focus is now on recruiting target attendees from government departments, agencies, industrial sectors, and businesses in New Brunswick. See all contracted exhibitors on the website.

In addition to ICT companies exhibiting, we are pleased to advise that we will also have a number of important government departments and agencies in the showcase for you to make a connection between their needs and your capabilities. Our focus will to be to aggressively recruit the target audience right until opening evening.

We have sold 85% of our booth space!

50 ICT companies may not seem like a lot …until you look at the list of ICT firms in New Brunswick. Did you know that with the companies that produce ICT products and services, twenty have more than fifty employees, seventy six have more than ten employees, and two hundred and thirty have more than one employee…and that the complete sector has an estimated three hundred and sixty four companies, but a third have only one employee.

We are pleased to report that as of today all but two of our top fifteen ICT firms are in the showcase. We are also very pleased to have an excellent turnout of companies who as a norm “do not do business in New Brunswick” but are coming out to forge new networks, relationships and partners in support of our local industry, and to be on hand for prospective employees looking to enter the industry from our universities and colleges (many are involved in the showcase).

A full account of all exhibitors is listed on the website at www.ThinkNBPenserNB.ca.

All booth spaces come with a turn-key booth!

Many ICT companies value the turn key package offered when you acquire a booth. When you acquire a booth in the showcase, it comes complete with a professional white hard wall exhibit booth, furnishings, carpet, electrical and hi speed wireless internet. All you need when you arrive is your lap top (and monitor if you wish), business cards, a hand out. Other than that its smile, greet and go meet your industry partners.

While in planning stages we arranged for smaller less costly booths, but, as it turns out, the over whelming preference has been for the larger booths in the showcase.

Booth space includes access to all functions!

Program activities for Think New Brunswick are also included in the booth space cost. The showcase opens for exhibitors only Tuesday evening, November 20 for an exhibitor reception on the show floor for exhibitors to go and meet the industry players in a relaxed setting. Food and beverage will be served during this time (4:00 PM TO 7:00 PM).

Next morning on Wednesday, November 21, beginning at 8:00 AM, a breakfast for exhibitors only will be served on the show floor. At 9:00 am the show floor opens for attendees until close at 5:00 pm. At noon, a lunch will be served on the show floor for all in attendance at Think New Brunswick. Also leading up to and at noon, we will have brief addresses from the Minister of Business New Brunswick and from an exciting key note speaker (to be posted on the website in a few days).

In addition to contracted ICT exhibitors, we are very pleased, and proud to have in our showcase important support groups involved including PropelSJ, CIPS, KIRA (Knowledge Industry Recognition Awards), Rising Stars, Geeks on Ice, the Enterprise Network, Business New Brunswick and others.

Attendees get in free with your VIP CODE!

All exhibitors are given a VIP CODE to pass along to anyone they would like to invite free of charge to Think New Brunswick. Otherwise, the charge is currently $15 for attendees up until show day on Wednesday, November 21, at which time registration is $25. We hope through this process we encourage the right audience attending the showcase. To register as an attendee, you just go to the Think New Brunswick website and register, www.ThinkNBPenserNB.ca.

We are now focused on marketing Think New Brunswick throughout the province …to key officials in government departments and agencies, industrial sectors and businesses with the explicit aim of raising the profile of the ICT industry to promotion support of made in New Brunswick ICT. The Steering Committee (see website for list) is very focused on ensuring that not only will Think New Brunswick deliver an important opportunity for networking and profiling to ICT exhibitors but we are working to ensure the vision of exploiting made in New Brunswick ICT is turned into reality.

With only six weeks to go, we are well on our way to delivering you the ICT industry a premium business development event that we hope will reinvent itself to a much greater event next year at Harbor Station.

As an exhibitor or attendee we hope to see you at the showcase. For up-dates on Think New Brunswick, check the website daily at www.

Technology Group Releases Implementation Report

Report: Here

September 25, 2007

Moncton – The Moncton Technology Planning Group (MTPG) today made public their first implementation report. Entitled “Applying the Benchmark”, the report relates the findings of the MTPG mission to Oulu, Finland to the strategy for accelerating technology-based economic growth in Greater Moncton. The report, which was recently presented to the provincial government, highlights important lessons gleaned from the MTPG Oulu visit and outlines nine specific recommendations for action.

“The vision set forward in our strategy was to see Greater Moncton recognized nationally and internationally for education and research excellence, entrepreneurial success, and globally competitive business development in targeted technology sectors” said Councillor Doug Robertson, Chair of the MTPG. “Our experience in Oulu impressed upon us the importance of focus, and local coordination of effort. Critical to the success of the technology strategy is the close alignment of post-secondary capacity with industry needs and opportunities. This was one of the underpinning themes of our strategy and was very prominent in the Oulu innovation system and in the success that city has realized over the years” Robertson added.

The implementation report includes measures focused on capacity and knowledge building, regional coordination, and post-secondary and institutional alignment. Several of the recommended actions have already been initiated by the MTPG, including the organization of a visit to Moncton later this week by a delegation from Oulu. “We are very pleased that our colleagues from Finland have responded so quickly to our invitation” noted Dr. Rodney Ouellette, a member of the MTPG Oulu delegation. “We are looking forward to continuing the dialogue and to three very busy and productive days with them here in the Moncton area.”

Another key action item for the MTPG is the establishment of a technology commercialization centre or incubator facility, as called for in the strategy. The group has put in place a team tasked with development of the concept and implementation strategy and further details on the final approach should be made public in the near future.

Of the nine action items in the report, two major ones have been recommended to the provincial government for early implementation. The first will see the establishment of “Innovation Moncton” as a local entity mandated to coordinate the implementation of the overall strategy. This organization will play a vital role, supporting and building local networks and partnerships, developing relationships among regional, national and international institutional partners, and guiding and monitoring the strategy. “Every successful model we have looked at, from Oulu to Austin, has this sort of resource in place to implement their strategy” said MTPG member Jon Manship. “Innovation Moncton will ensure that our strategy becomes reality, and furthermore, will become a vital local resource in support of the realization of the province’s self-sufficiency agenda.” The MTPG believes that Innovation Moncton will become a key partner not just locally, but provincially, and will be a strong asset, for example, in support of the new cluster development mandate being considered for the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation.

The other major recommendation to government calls for the establishment of a post-secondary centre of excellence in Greater Moncton. “The MTPG strategy clearly identified the need for enhanced, technology-oriented post-secondary capacity aligned with the key industry sectors” said Robertson. “The centre of excellence concept is intended to capitalize on and leverage the existing institutions in the area, their research and education excellence and strong commitment to coordinated efforts” he said, adding “the MTPG envisions a new technology-oriented educational partnership based on a focused, strategic collaboration among area post-secondary institutions, consistent with the province’s self-sufficiency agenda”.

The concept could feature a combination of real and virtual capacity, but according to the MTPG report, must have the express goal of becoming a centre of excellence in technology management, international business, and science and technology development particularly linked to the key domains identified in the MTPG strategy. The report asserts that the centre must have close ties to all relevant university research in New Brunswick, and the technology transfer in order to become a key catalyst for applied research and commercialization.

The report of the Post Secondary Commission places emphasis on optimizing the use of current resources, of supporting recognized research strengths, and strength in community responsiveness. It also proposed the establishment of centres of excellence to realize such objectives. “We believe our centre of excellence concept is wholly consistent with these principles, especially if you look at what that report has to say about the importance of institutional linkages and responsiveness to local industry” Robertson noted. “That is one of the fundamental underpinnings of our strategy and so we believe we are not just on the right track, but in fact have the basis for a strong local model that can help ensure we realize our vision for Greater Moncton and the provinces vision for transforming New Brunswick’s economy”.

OpenOffice vs. MS Office

I have worked with both apps and I am a huge user of Google Docs. Open source applications help me run Geeks on Ice and collaborate with my team. I see huge potential for open source apps like OpenOffice.org for the non-profit sector, but the hurdle these technologies will face in that environment is a knowledge barrier.

I witness a digital divide for most non-profit organizations I work with when we introduce new technologies. Many have learned to use MS Office while they were in University, thus get a little scared when the thought of learning new technology (even if both apps are relatively similar) frighten people. That being said, when I first got into the legal document transformation business with Whitehill most firms were using WordPerfect. Now, no one knows what WordPerfect is?

My prediction, Google will bridge their Gmail and Google Docs applications with StarOffice which will offer users a complete business applications suite with built in document repository functionality for free! Imagine accessing your documents from any computer with internet access. Goodbye laptop bag! To counter this offensive, Microsoft will need to move to a thin client (web based) application with offline capabilities to remain current. What do you think?

Technology Training: The Nonprofit Viewpoint

Lack of resources often a challenge

"Many nonprofits fear that proper technology training will take time away from critical mission work. Read about how to overcome obstacles to training in your organization."

This article really highlights the digital divide between non-profit and for-profit organizations. As part of a renewed vision for Geeks on Ice, see building a local organization which professionals can volunteer to their time to conduct workshops/training for local non-profits.

The goal is to help them with their struggle to meet growing demands for their services. This new Geeks on Ice vision plan will be released soon and I sincerely hope the community rallies around our goal to eliminate the digital divide.

Wired: Geeks to the Rescue..

I ran across this great article by Clive Thompson (Read Here)which makes a case that "Geeks" like Bill Gates are the right kind of reasoned thinkers that can change the world.

To date, Geeks on Ice has focused on a regional mission to reduce the digital divide of our non-profits to help the less fortunate. Throughout this time I have observed the mindset of Geeks and agree with Clive that we have a very high level and pragmatic method of raising awareness for a cause and contributing large sums of money to help that cause.

Tell us what you think...

For Release: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Skywire Software Enters Definitive Agreement to Acquire Whitehill Technologies

Move Solidifies Company’s Position as a Dominant, Vertically Focused Software Provider and Continues Its Global Expansion Serving Insurance and Other Key Industries

FRISCO, TX – August 1, 2007 – Skywire Software and Whitehill Technologies, two leading global providers of software and services for insurance, financial services, legal, and professional services, today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Skywire Software will acquire Whitehill Technologies, Inc. Terms of the transaction, which is expected to be complete on or before August 31, 2007, were not disclosed.

The acquisition of Whitehill will solidify Skywire Software’s position as a dominant, vertically focused software company and continue its aggressive global expansion in serving insurance, financial services and other key, high-growth industries. Whitehill provides document and compliance software that helps insurance carriers, law firms and other companies improve efficiency and speed of key business processes. Based in Moncton, New Brunswick, Whitehill is a privately-held, profitable company with a major center in Markham, Ontario, and offices in the U.S. and U.K. With the acquisition of Whitehill, Skywire Software will employ more than 650 employees and serve nearly 2,500 customers in 45 countries.

"This acquisition anchors our position as a leading provider of key software applications to insurers of all sizes and across all segments of the insurance industry," said Patrick Brandt, president and chief executive officer of Skywire Software. "Whitehill offers an attractive complementary customer base and performance-driven talent. It fits well with our goal of providing the best customer service and technology in the industry, furthers our presence in key vertical markets, and enhances our presence on a global basis."

Whitehill serves more than half of the largest insurance companies in North America. The company’s document automation and regulatory compliance software complements Skywire Software’s portfolio of software applications and services that assist insurers in managing the lifecycle of a policy.

Skywire Software’s enterprise-wide products span a range of key functions including rating and underwriting, policy production and correspondence, real-time data exchange and business intelligence. Customers also leverage the deep domain knowledge and expertise of Skywire Software’s professional services team and its state-of-the-art Business Process Outsourcing facilities. Currently, Skywire Software serves more than 1,000 insurance companies.
According to industry research and advisory firm, Celent LLC, document management accounts for four of the top five categories tracking in software deals in the insurance industry. This acquisition positions Skywire Software as a leader in a highly-fragmented market.

Skywire Software’s vertical focus will expand to include legal and professional services. Over the past decade Whitehill has provided billing, reporting, workflow, and process integration software and services tailored to the specialized needs of these sectors. Whitehill currently serves more than 750 legal and professional services organizations, including two thirds of the world’s 250 largest law firms.

"It’s incredible the number of synergies between Skywire Software and Whitehill’s offerings, customers and employees, " said Paul McSpurren, president and chief executive officer of Whitehill Technologies. "We look forward to combining with Skywire Software to continue serving the legal and insurance markets, and building one of the top vertically focused software companies fueled by innovation, talent and a drive to provide outstanding customer service."

Current Whitehill customers should expect business to continue without interruption. The shared vision to build upon the domain expertise, process knowledge and service delivery success of the combined companies was a key driver of the acquisition. The transaction continues Skywire Software’s aggressive expansion, which has been fueled by organic growth and through nine previous acquisitions during the past four years. Earlier this year, Skywire Software completed the acquisitions of both Docucorp International and Integrated Insurance Technologies. Skywire Software is a privately-held subsidiary of Hall Financial Group, a $2 billion private, diversified firm.

Nominate a community hero

United Way campaign looks for people who have had a positive impact on Southeastern N.B.

By Stephanie Kukkonen Times & Transcript Staff
Published Tuesday July 31st, 2007
Appeared on page A2

Everybody knows somebody who makes this world a better place, and now you can tell that person just how much better they make it.
The United Way is once again running its Community Heroes campaign. The campaign gives Metro Moncton residents the chance to nominate a person who makes a positive impact on the area as a community hero.

"When we came up with the idea, we were talking about taking a strength-based approach and not always looking at the negative," says executive director, Debbie McInnis. "There are a lot of great things that go on in our community."

Nominations can be sent at any time through e-mail to mfardy@moncton.unitedway.ca or by going to the website www.gmsenbunitedway.ca. Nominations can also be made by telephone at 858-8600.

The United Way asks that nominations be summed up in 250 to 500 words. Please give the name of the person you are nominating, an explanation of why you are nominating them and how they have made a positive impact on the Metro Moncton or Southeastern New Brunswick region.

"We take whatever people want to give us," says McInnis. "Our kick-off is September 6, so we'll start recognizing people then."
McInnis says it is important for people to know who makes our city such a great place to live. She says what goes on behind the scenes is what makes things run so smoothly, and the people who are responsible for it aren't asking for the recognition so it is up to their peers to give it to them.

The United Way has two goals in mind for their Community Heroes campaign. They want people to recognize all the hard work that people put in to all the great things that go on and so that people don't take for granted the actual great things that do go on.
"It's kind of two-fold," says McInnis. "We're really looking forward to it, it's nice for people to know that their hard work is recognized."

One Laptop per Child

I really hope this inititive takes off, plus it touches on what we are trying to do on a local level.

The technology is really cool and the idea could be revolutionary. A $100 laptop could tranform the third world.

Geeks 2008 and United Way Update

Greetings and Salutations! My apologies for being MIA (Missing in Action) since April, but life seems to have a funny way of interrupting oneself... The team has begun gearing up for the 2008 edition of Geeks on Ice which promises to be bigger and better then previous years.

I am please to announce that the United Way is continuing their partnership with our group and are keen to add more magic to our unique event. While 2007 was a tremendous success with over $4000.00 raised to help local non-profit agencies with their technology requirements, several points need to be addressed for 2008.

In response to our participant survey, I have began to focus on the following:

1) Level of Competitiveness
2) Registration Costs
3) Communications and PR
4) Stress the Key Goals of the Event
5) Deal with Facility Issues
6) Improve Sponsorship

I will keep posting updates as I make progress and would love to receive input and suggestions on any of the topics highlighted above.

Cheers,

Trevor Macausland

Prix d’or 50 000 $
Prix d’argent 25 000 $

To The Editor:

The United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick Inc. would like to thank the planning committee, participants and volunteers who made the 2007 Geeks on Ice event a community success.

This year's tournament had a great turnout with 16 registered teams of IT professionals who collectively raised $4,000 to purchase IT equipment for non-profit charitable agencies throughout Southeastern New Brunswick.

Trevor MacAusland, the founder of Geeks on Ice, along with his dedicated committee has done a fantastic job in showing the true meaning of community spirit. He has found a fun and successful way for IT Professionals throughout Atlantic Canada to network, stay active and give back to their community.

"The Geeks", (and we had fun saying that all weekend!) really gave their all to create friendly competition on and off the ice. The "GeekFest" at Dooly's Saturday night was great fun. Everyone involved, including community agencies, had a chance to relax, chat and experience what the tournament is all about - good times!

A special thank you to Service Canada who were awarded the coveted "Rising Stars Most Generous Geeks" trophy for being the team that raised the most funds in the tournament. Families and supporters came from out of town to cheer on their favourite team and they learned about United Way along the way.

Thank you to everyone who made the 2007 Geeks on Ice a success, from organizers, players, sponsors and fans - each of you had a positive impact in our community.

See you next year!

Debbie McInnis

Executive Director on behalf of the United Way of Greater Moncton & Southeastern N.B. Region Inc.

Geeks Score a Big Goal for Local Charity

Moncton, NB – Assomption Vie claimed the title as Geeks on Ice champions for the second time in three years with an exciting 4 to 2 victory over Canada Post on Sunday at the Moncton 4 Ice Center. While Assomption Vie beat out 15 other teams, the big winners were the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB who will benefit from the $4000.00 raised by the 300 players involved in the 4-day hockey tournament.

Moncton Crescent MLA John Betts presented the Whitehill Cup to the winners. Assomption Vie had to fend off some stiff competition in order to make their way into the history books. No team has ever won the Whitehill Cup more then once in the four year history of the tournament before today. It was a great day for the Moncton based team who also saw the Business New Brunswick Tournament MVP award going to Serge Bourgeois.

The title of The Rising Stars Most Generous Team award went to Services Canada for the third straight year with a whopping $477.00 donation to the United Way. AOL came in second with $370.00 and Xwave/Aliant was third with $309.00. Another notable mention goes to Whitehill Technologies who set bar as a great corporate citizen by making a $1000.00 contribution to kick-off the charitable campaign.

Moncton City Councilor, Merrill Henderson kicked off the tournament with the official puck drop on Friday evening. Aliant/Xwave, Assomption Vie, Canada Post, Whitehill Technologies, Services Canada, YourTeamOnlice.ca, Dovico, Minacs, Speilo, All in Canada, AOL and CGI are some of the organizations which participated in the annual weekend tournament.

Besides playing hockey, the geeks promoted health and wellness and networked with their peers while raising some serious cash to help local agencies upgrade their computer equipment.

Geeks on Ice would like to thank its sponsors Whitehill Technologies, G4 Tech TV, Career Beacon, Dooly’s, Molson, Rising Stars, NRC, Business New Brunswick, Atlantic Provinces Chambers of Commerce, Aliant and YourTeamOnline.ca for making the tournament a memorable one.

Before you hit the ice...

Hello Participants,

The GOI 2007 tournament rules are now available here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgzwdj7h_103dn4gpd

A couple of highlights and for those of you who participated in last year’s tournament a few changes:

  1. All referees decisions are final - NO PROTESTS
  2. There is no Centre Red Line.
  3. No Contact.
  4. Slap Shots, where the stick starts above the waist, are not allowed. Referees will immediately blow the whistle to stop the play; and a face-off will be taken in the offending team’s zone.
  5. Under NO circumstances is outside alcohol permitted in the dressing rooms. Beer can be purchased at the facility and delivered to your room after your game. If any team violates this rule, the facility will ban your team from further competition and the committee will not reimburse your registration fee.
Remember, Ignorance is no excuse.

Also, for your information, here is a copy of the GOI 2007 waiver form: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgzwdj7h_105gw5wdf

It is mandatory that every member of your team, player or coach, sign the waiver; otherwise they will not be permitted to participate or take the ice.

For convenience, we will bring copies to the arena for everyone to complete so you needn’t bring them with you. This was only meant to give you a prior heads up to the requirement.

Encourage your players to approach
the tournament in the manner that it was intended.

We understand that Hockey is the best game in the world.
I know there will be some outstanding play making witnessed over the four days.

Please remember not to take it too seriously.
HAVE FUN!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

SAINT JOHN – Chris and Adrian Nadeau, two experienced entrepreneurs and well known local hockey players, announced today that the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation has completed an equity investment in YourTeam Online, their emerging Internet technology company. The company creates effective web advertising opportunities through the development of online sports communities that feature innovative team management and communication tools.

“The Foundation’s investment is an integral key to advancing our product nationally and internationally” said Chris Nadeau, President of YourTeam Online. “NBIF has provided our company with the capital that we require to advance our marketing and sales efforts, and take the company to the next level of growth.”

“The company has been successful in attracting early users and this investment will enable the firm to more rapidly reach the marketplace,” commented Calvin Milbury, NBIF Vice President of Business Development. YourTeam Online is a prime example of the type of company we seek to support under our Seed Equity Fund.”

Since YourTeam Online first unveiled its product to the local hockey community in the fall of 2006, it has grown steadily and now has over 250 teams signed up on www.yourteamonline.ca. The company plans to use the NBIF investment to expand its product offering into other sports.

Local Geeks Lace up for Charity

For Immediate Release
April 16, 2007

Moncton, NB – The puck drops on Property Guys title reign as Whitehill Cup champions on Thursday evening at the Moncton 4-Plex. The team of e-realtors rolled through the competition last year, but will face stiff opposition if they hope to retain their crown at Geeks on Ice 2007.

The Moncton based team will have to beat out 15 other cup thirsty teams from across Atlantic Canada in order to make their way into the history books. No team has ever repeated as champion in the four year history of the tournament. Ken Leblanc, CEO of Property Guys, has gone on record to say that his team is ready to take on all challengers.

Ken has a reason to be confident. On a recent visit to Moncton, Hockey Night in Canada celebrity Ron MacLean filmed an interview for GeeksonIce.com where he was asked to comment on Property Guys chances of a repeat. Without hesitation, MacLean picked Property Guys to go home with the hardware again this year.

Whitehill Technologies, Aliant/Xwave, Assomption Vie, Canada Post, Service Canada, YourTeamOnlice.ca, Dovico, Minacs, Speilo, All in Canada, AOL and CGI are some of the organizations participating in this year’s tournament featuring close to 300 players.

Besides playing hockey, Geeks will look to promote health and wellness, network with their peers and raise some serious cash in partnership with the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB Region.

“This tournament is unique because it replaces traditional corporate environments with a casual atmosphere where social networking can take place,” explained Trevor MacAusland committee Co-Chair, “at the end of the day; it is about going out, having fun and doing something really cool for our community.”

In order for everyone to embrace their ‘Inner Geek’, there will be a GeekFest on Saturday Night, April 21st from 8 – 12 p.m. for people to participate without the skates! Dooly’s on Main Street will host the evening complete with billiards, Hockey Night in Canada, good times and prizes. Geeks of all kinds, players, organizers, supporters, IT professionals and Hockey Fans are invited.

Games will run for four days with the championship game taking place on Sunday at 1PM. If you would like to see the full schedule and or get more information contact geeksonice@gmail.com or go to http://www.geeksonice.com/.

Teams: Geeks so Nice

Hello Team Captains,

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of Geeks on Ice and wanted to express how much I am looking forward to meeting each of you in approximately 15 days. Geeks is not your traditional hockey tournament.

Our participants participate in Geeks on Ice for three reasons: To promote health and wellness within the IT industry; to promote networking between peers and knowledge industry firms from all over Atlantic Canada; to raise funds for the purchase of computers, peripherals and software for non-profit organizations.

Holding true to our mision, I am writing to you in relation to our last goal of raising funds for non-profit organizations. Last year, our tournament managed to raise close to $7000.00 for Support to Single Parents. This investment by the Geeks community has enabled SFSP to deliver valuable services to hundreds of individuals. Your contribution makes a world of difference.

For 2007, Geeks on Ice is working with the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB to help upgrade equipment for several local non-profit agencies with very different needs. We have set a goal to raise $6000 , but I am confident that our group can shatter that benchmark.

Like previous years, we are holding a Rising Stars "Most Charitable Team" contest during the tournament. The contest keeps track of raffle ticket purchases and charitable contributions made by players and fans. Each team will have a United Way scoreboard to report how much was contributed to the United Way. The winning team and raffle winners will be announced at Geekfest on April 21nd. HRDC has won the award for the last 2 years.

To help make fundraising a little bit easier for your organizations, fans and players here is a pledge formwhich you can provide to the United Way staff at the tournament. If you have any questions regarding the pledge sheet or purchase raffle tickets before hand, you can contact the United Way office at (506) 858-8600 or office@moncton.unitedway.ca

The raffle draw is open to the public and the top prize is 2 tickets to the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Country Rocks the Hill Concert. Tickets are 1 for $2 and 3 for $5

We realize that not everyone can make a monetary contribution, therefore the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB is also going to award teams with volunteer services that are offered by team representatives. Several agencies require expertise like database design, network technicians and web designers. If anyone you know is willing to contribute some time to the cause, please contact the United Way office at (506) 858-8600 or office@moncton.unitedway.ca.

For more information on the tournament and fundraiser, visit our website http://www.geeksonice.com/.

Please forward this message to your players and fans. The countdown is on, see you in 15 days!

Cheers,

Trevor Macausland
