Geeks on Ice Update

It has been a while since I last updated Geeks on Icers with an update of where we are with only 16 days left until the first puck drop for 2007. Our committee has been working extremely hard at planning this year's tournament and hitting the pavement towards our fundraising effort. Here are some highlights:

Fundraiser
  • Goal: To raise $6000.00 to purchase computer equipment peripherals and software for non-profit organizations.
  • Charity: United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB
  • Donations: Contact Micha Fardy at mfardy@moncton.unitedway.ca
  • Raffle Draw: Top prize will be two tickets to the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw concert in Moncton with many other prizes to be named later.
  • Purchase: Raffle tickets will be sold at the tournament, however; if you decide to purchase raffle tickets before the event contact the United Way office at (506) 858-8600 or mfardy@moncton.unitedway.ca. All proceeds go towards United Way agencies.

  • The schedule will be released once we have received the full registration payment and rosters of each team currently registered for the tournament. If you have not send your roster, please do so ASAP so that teams can co-ordinate their players around their game schedule.

Sponsorship

  • Whitehill Technologies has once again signed on as tournament co-sponsor with agreeing to sponsor the official Geeks on Ice puck and make a $1000.00 donation to the Charitable campaign.
  • G4 Tech TV has signed on to be tournament co-sponsor by providing the Championship team prize package and game MVP prizes.
  • The Wild Rose Inn has agreed to donate a prize for the charitable raffle as well as offer Geeks on Ice registrants a discount rate towards a stay at their fabulous inn. To book a room for the Geeks weekend, contact Joanne at wildroseinn@hotmail.com
