Local Entrepreneurs Turn Passion for Sports into Business

SAINT JOHN – Chris and Adrian Nadeau, two experienced entrepreneurs and well known local hockey players, announced today that the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation has completed an equity investment in YourTeam Online, their emerging Internet technology company. The company creates effective web advertising opportunities through the development of online sports communities that feature innovative team management and communication tools.

“The Foundation’s investment is an integral key to advancing our product nationally and internationally” said Chris Nadeau, President of YourTeam Online. “NBIF has provided our company with the capital that we require to advance our marketing and sales efforts, and take the company to the next level of growth.”

“The company has been successful in attracting early users and this investment will enable the firm to more rapidly reach the marketplace,” commented Calvin Milbury, NBIF Vice President of Business Development. Since YourTeam Online first unveiled its product to the local hockey community in the fall of 2006, it has grown steadily and now has over 250 teams signed up on www.yourteamonline.ca. The company plans to use the NBIF investment to expand its product offering into other sports.

Geeks Team Up with YourTeam Online

Saint John Based Social Networking Portal to Provide Geeks Registrants a Chance to Network

YourTeam Online and Geeks on Ice have announced a formal partnership today as part of the 2007 hockey tournament. The agreement will give each registered team their own team zone on the online social network.

Compared as the MySpace of the hockey world, YourTeam is an online social network dedicated to improving hockey teams, creating an online community where coaches, players and families can communicate better and share information. Teams can share game plans, schedules, statistics, photos, videos and information with their players, fans and other Geeks on Ice teams. YourTeam is an ideal tool for the event participants since the tournament focuses networking among peers.

Teams can register their team zone at http://www.yourteamonline.ca. As teams sign up, Geeks on Ice will post the links to each Team Zone section on the Geeks on Ice website. Teams are encourage to participate and alert the Geeks on Ice committee of the Team Zone web address.
